From the supplier: Speakers at the Spring 1993 Nutraceuticals Conference addressed attendees on the importance of food in the prevention, treatment and cure of diseases. They expressed unhappiness with US regulators who deter food manufacturers from making health claims. Lawyer Stephen McNamara said he did not expect the 1990 Nutrition Labeling and Education Act (NLEA) to ease restrictions on health claims, which will still have to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Other speakers were also very critical of the new law.
