From the supplier: Walter Otto Weyrauch and Maureen Anne Bell's study of the autonomous lawmaking of the Gypsies is an example of how an historicist's approach to law can offer insights that a positivist approach neglects. Such cross-cultural studies offer a better chance at understanding the processes involved in the creation and evolution of law and raises questions as to the relationship between different, autonomous bodies of law. Some problems with methodology in such a study are discussed.
