From the supplier: The firing of two political cartoonists, Clay Bennett of St. Petersburg Times and Brian Basset of Seattle Times, has raised questions about the status of cartoonists. According to official reasons, Bennett was fired because his editor found Bennett's work uninspiring and Basset was the victim of budget cuts. There is a prevalent opinion that cartoonists are discouraged from airing political views that do not follow the editorial stance. All editors do not allow cartoonists to have an independent opinion.
