Microsoft has acquired financial software developer Quicken and will complete development of its financial services electronic network in 1995. Banks have not been able to cope with technological advances and innovations in financial services. Electronic network firms such as America Online, CompuServe and Prodigy have expanded financial services to their customers. Banks should change their customer orientation since customers are expected to prefer remote banking services.
