From the supplier: Ed Hirshfeld, an attorney with the American Medical Association, warned that the insistence of state insurance regulators that Provider-Sponsored Organizations (PSOs) obtain state insurance licenses was counterproductive to the health care industry. Hirshfeld asserted that PSOs provide higher quality health care at lower prices than do other providers. He said that state regulatory groups such as the National Association of Insurance Commissioners were intrusive to the point of detracting from the quality and affordability of health care.
