The dreaded cancer-causing mold, which used to be difficult to measure and replicate, can now be measured through repeatable and simple-to-run procedures. The Dept. of Agriculture is currently concentrating on its four-point program that will serve to eliminate aflatoxin from the food and feed supply. Results from the program have provided an understanding of the mechanisms by which aflatoxin is produced.
