📖 Description
Purpose: Audio-Digest Foundation CME/CE activities are designed to provide its learners - physicians and other healthcare professionals - with continuing education that will help identify clinical problems in their practice settings, provide content to help to solve those problems, and increase their application of knowledge to practice.
Audio-Digest Urology is specifically designed to provide the participant with state-of-the-art information, including, but not limited to, the diagnosis and management of:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia Bladder cancer Prostate cancer Renal cancer Impotence and infertility Female stress urinary incontinence Calculus disease Interstitial cystitis Pediatric urologic problems Penile malformations Reflux disease Sexually transmitted diseases
The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer (PC). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1: Compare and contrast focal therapy vs active surveillance in the treatment of PC.
2: Recognize limitations of current biopsy techniques in selection of patients for focal therapy for PC.
3: Evaluate data on risk reduction in PC through the use of 5-a-reductase inhibitors (5-ARIs).
4: Select appropriate candidates for treatment with 5-ARIs to reduce risk for PC.
5: Consider use of assays for molecular markers of PC (PCA3, PTEN, and TMPRSS-ERG fusion) in diagnosis and prediction of clinical outcomes.
