Desi is a generous, beautiful, and God-fearing woman who runs the local office of a national charity in tiny Lynwood New York. In a different world she might have been a local hero, but she suffers from a few off-putting birth defects. She has eight-foot dragon wings, reddish skin, and pale yellow pupiless eyes.
Now times are hard and the money has run out. The charity's national leadership is plagued by scandal, and the government has frozen their grants pending an investigation. Desi's charity is failing, and on street corners and in bars around town hungry people are beginning to mutter about "Lynwood's Demon." A few are reaching for their hunting rifles.
Soon Desi is attacked in the street and the violence quickly escalates. When a bible-quoting madman tries to kill her, it's clear that it can all end in just one way.
Just as all seems lost handsome David Woodsmith appears representing a large potential donor. He seems to be the savior and a guardian that Desi has longed for all her life. How could she know David would lead her down a path of money, drugs, and murder that would find her facing off against a creature of deep and ancient evil?
Full of action, suspense, and surprises, you can't help but get behind Desi as she fights for her life in tiny Lynwood.
