Q: What makes Derek Cole such a well-loved character?

I think it comes down to his fragility. After losing his wife to a bank robbery gone horribly wrong, Cole's life is sent into a downward spiral. It's only when he hits rock bottom that he begins to realize the direction his life should take.
I've tried to develop Cole's character into one that many can relate to, understand and, most importantly, that readers will want to learn more about.

Q: What about The Observer do you think readers will most enjoy?

Not sure if it will be the new characters introduced, the chilling political thrilling plot or the fact that the story line is so timely. While The Observer was being completed, terrorist attacks seemed to dominate the news headlines. I think that people want both an answer to terrorism and to gain some understanding about terrorists.

Q:The Observer is a more "reality based" novel than the first two in the Derek Cole Suspense Thriller Series. Do you prefer writing more realistic based novels or novels that demand a leap of faith for your readers?

Heartless was about a man born without a heart and Those of the Margin is, among other things, a story about a ghost. The Observer is a story that readers will find easy to believe. Because of the challenges we are facing in this world, I have to say that The Observer is a book that I felt compelled to write while the others in the Derek Cole Suspense Thriller Series were books that were just fun to write.

Q: What's next for Private Investigator Derek Cole?

The next book I will be releasing will not be a Derek Cole book. I had an idea about a new character who is given the gift/curse of identifying demons and sending them back to where they belong. As for Derek Cole, I'll be releasing the 4th in the Suspense Thriller Series later in 2015 and, based on my plot overview, Cole is in for more mystery, suspense, danger and a slew of nefarious characters to do battle with.
