She tells her all about Oakey The Oak Tree, the ancient oak that had plenty of fears and worries even though he couln't move anywhere! One day Oakey surprisd his little friend Kiddie by starting to talk! She was touched and amazed when he said:
"" I sometimes wish
that I could move,
I've been here for so long!
It gets so hard for me, you know,
Please listen to my song!"
Oakey tells Kiddie what it's like to be a tree. He goes on to say:
" I often wish that I could follow
The boy that grew and moved away.
The chick that grew into a swallow,
The girl who climbed me every day!
When it gets too hard for me,
Oak tears trickle down my bark.
Then you think the tree is sticky,
I sometimes cry when it gets dark!"
Grandma Glee patiently comforts her little granddaughter by saying:
"Sapphire, sometimes life has changes,
People move away,
Leaving somewhere that they're used to,
When they'd rather stay.
But moving or not moving
Is not why we feel that way.
It's who we miss and what we fear
We may find far away.
Sapphire finally realizes that moving is not the end of the world. Grandma gives her the courage to look forward to her new home with a smile!
