From the supplier: The 1997 National Retail Security Survey conducted by the Department of Sociology of the University of Florida revealed that inventory shrinkage is mainly influenced by a store's management practice. This was concluded when the data gathered showed that the primary cause of this problem is employee theft in companies which have high employee turnover. Thus, this study suggests that management should hire quality people who will be given up-to-standard compensation and training that will make them dedicated enough to the company to become personally responsible for its assets.
