From the supplier: The traditional divide between bank marketers and bank management is fast disappearing. Faced with an increasingly customer-driven retail banking market, members of these two camps are beginning to blend their skills to bring marketing and branch management staff closer together so that banks are better able to provide quality service. As a result, a growing number of marketing specialists are learning about the operational aspects of managing a bank branch, while an increasing number of bank executives are now expected to be familiar with marketing strategies. Cooperation between marketing and management staff is thus becoming the norm, as the realization grows that a bank's survival may hinge on the ability of all staffers to integrate their ideas and skills, so that the bank can attain a level of customer service that enables it to compete effectively in a crowded financial marketplace.
