Rebecca Steele Chasing a Dream

Hello ! Thank you for this great opportunity to share how my first  romance novel was written.

In the 1970’s the beginning of this story was written and hidden in a closet.  In early 2016 a memory was stirred by an old song and the manuscript was found, dusty but completely intact.   An editor friend of mine read it and decided the story itself was good enough to rewrite.  Together we spent a year rewriting, editing and continuing the story up to the present time.

Hence, Rebecca Steele Chasing a Dream was published in February 2017. This unique romance novel is about a young woman who falls in love with a military man and follows him around the country for stolen moments of love. There are many twists and turns and a surprise ending.  Although this is considered a clean romance, I’ve been told it is very sexy .  It is a fun read, hard to put down and easy enough to read in one or two sittings.

There are many reviews and requests for a sequel. People tend to fall in love with Becky. A sequel is in the works.

Again, I appreciate this opportunity. Take care.

Vividly Colorful

Colors swirl all around us whether it be by sight or mentality. You don’t just see colors but you can feel them, too.

People are complex because they feel. Without emotions, people are common and there’s no uniqueness about them. Without emotions, people tend to become boring and ordinary. It’s like a flower without its color; a field of blank petals holding only unity and no diversity. Or like a book without words; a library full of different covers yet nothing but blank pages on the inside instead of adventurous stories. It’s dull. Life is about feelings and living and wandering. If you don’t wander or fall astray from the crowd, then what was the point?

Overpopulation

Isn’t overpopulation a bad thing? It’s causing inequality among people sometimes. In developing and underdeveloped countries, rich people have more money than poor people; more food than poor people. Middle class people also suffer from poverty to some extent. The question is why? Why do most of the rich people have to be so boastful that they only want more and more not caring about the poor? Why are they so selfish about themselves? Why don’t poor people get enough right? Poors can’t even pay for their food and they are tortured violently. They can’t even speak for themselves because they are labelled as POOR. Why? Aren’t they human beings? Don’t they have flesh and blood like us? Rich people don’t have a different coloured blood to be so proud of. Rich people will also be burred the same way as poor do. So why so pride and greed? You won’t take your belongings with you after you die! Wake up guys. Treat poor people as human beings. Stop abusing them. They also get hurt by rude and abusing behaviors.

Something new, for ALL authors

To quote that wonderful philosopher, Whinny the Pooh,

The beginning is a very good place to start“.

For me, it all started was when I was looking for a great book to read.

I finished reading the last book by my favourite author. It would be another year, maybe two before his next book became available.

This meant I needed to search for another book to read. I was even willing to stray from my usual genre to find an excellent read.

Something easier said than done.

You would think, with over 45 million books on Amazon alone, finding a story to enjoy, a book you can immerse yourself in totally, would be a pretty easy thing.

But no, it is not.

Finding and selecting a book which looks like it will meet your criteria is not a simple affair, not if you want to make as certain as possible you will enjoy reading it.

“Well, it wasn’t a torrential downpour,” Bev said. “And as long as there’s no lightning there’s little danger.”

“Yeah, but it didn’t do much for the humidity,” Sedona said. “It feels like a bathhouse out here.”

“Yeah it’s always like that in the summer. Especially when it’s just a short storm like that one. We call that a Georgia Quickie.”

“Oh, yeah?” Sedona said. When that didn’t prompt Bev to elaborate, she said, “Okay. I’ll bite. What’s a Georgia Quickie?”

Bev glanced ahead to make sure the kids were out of earshot. She leaned closer so only Sedona could hear. “Barely enough to get you wet and just enough to keep you hot and bothered afterwards.”

This is an excerpt from the epic post-apocalyptic thriller, Nero’s Fiddle.

I would like to tell you from whence the inspiration came for this book.
